Cultural Village Foundation- Katara witnessed the launch of the fifth edition of the Winter Festival, which was inaugurated by the General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara, H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti
in the presence of the Vice minister of Foreign Relations of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for Asia, Middle East and Oceania Affairs, H.E. Ambassador Felix Placencia Gonzalez.
It is worth mentioning, that the Vice minister of Foreign Relations of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for Asia, Middle East and Oceania Affairs, H.E. Ambassador Felix Placencia Gonzalez paid a visit to the Cultural Village and was lead a tour by Katara's GM on Katara's amenities and the host of the Winter Festival 2018.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, said; "through the host of the Winter Festival, Katara is keen on providing a thrilling ambience that is full of entertaining activities and beneficial campaigns. Not to forget to mention that the Cultural Village ensures to organize events in response to the visitors' desires. In addition, the launch of the Winter Festival coincides with the annual school holiday, for families to invest their time in a festive and entertaining ambience that best suit all family members."
Held in cooperation with a number of entities and various sectors in the country, the festival is scheduled to run until the 22nd of January, from 4:00pm until 9:00pm and comprises of workshops, traditional shows, competitions, and performances that enable residents of Qatar to make the most of the prevailing pleasant weather.
The fifth edition of the Winter Festival, will see Al-Gannas Association participating with an exhibition and educational workshops for young falconers. In addition, the organizers of Al-Galayel Championship will host an exhibition displaying collectables and equipment from all previous championships. Moreover, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment is scheduled to organize 'winter planting' workshops for children.
In addition, the public will have an opportunity to acquire traditional and artistic pieces from Katara's Traditional Souq, which will include a diversified range of pavilions that offer various products, such as; textiles, perfumes and a unique art collection.
An exclusive campaign on health awareness and free medical examinations for the public, entailing; blood sugar and blood pressure tests, and body weight analysis which is sought to be conducted by the Syrian American Medical Center, Al Hayat Medical Center, Bin Muftah Center, Naseem Al Rabeeh Medical Centre, Value Medical Center and Boston Medical Care.
From the sideline activities of the festival, Tamim Toast Master International Club will offer entertaining shows on the art of public speaking and classic poetry and Bedaya Centre is participating with a display of new business startups held with an aim to educate the public on the various services provided by each project.
