The Cultural Village Foundation Katara will host Al Wasmi Gardens Festival from 18 to 22 February 2020. The festival will showcase a number of gardens inspired by different countries around the world set against the lush green backdrop of Katara Hills.
Al Wasmi Gardens Festival will be open to the public from 10 am to 10 PM each day. Visitors can explore a beautiful array of garden designs, flowers, and plants, including the Qatar Airways French Garden, which has been designed in partnership with Qatar Airways as sponsor to celebrate the Qatar-France Year of Culture 2020.
H.E. Dr. Khaled Bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara, expressed during the press conference held on Sunday, his pleasure to launch the "Al Wasmi" Katara Gardens Festival, which is the first of its kind in Qatar and the region, noting that Katara seeks to reflect its status as a prominent tourist destination in Qatar and the region, through its continuous endeavor to present innovative events that combine culture, tourism and entertainment.
Regarding the activities during this festival, A range of activities for the whole family are planned as part of the Al Wasmi Gardens Festival, including treasure hunts, food and beverage kiosks, floral art and craft workshops, relaxation areas, and live entertainment. In addition to the Qatar Airways French Garden, other gardens include the Tropical Garden, the Japanese Garden, and the Indian Garden, among many more.
Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Marketing and Corporate Communications, Ms. Salam Al Shawa, said: “We are delighted to sponsor Al Wasmi Gardens Festival – a hugely exciting new concept for Qatar. The event is a unique opportunity for visitors and residents to see visually stunning gardens from all around the world in one place at Katara Hills. I am especially excited to unveil the Qatar Airways French Garden, which is inspired by the sophistication of the traditional palace gardens of France and the Qatar Airways brand.”
For her part, Ms. Moza Khaled Al-Muhannadi, Director of Community Service, Sponsorships and Strategic Media Department at Ooredoo Qatar, expressed the company's keenness to participate in supporting and sponsoring the Katara Gardens Festival as the official communication partner of the festival.
