PROGRAM: Day 1 Saturday, June 30th 1. The Invention of Photography / 2. Art Versus Science / 3. The Decisive Moment Day 2 Sunday, July 1st 1. New Documents Post War Photography / 2. New Topography Day 3 Monday, July 2nd 1. Photography as a Conceptual Practice / 2. Contemporary Photography This course is mainly targeting artists, photography students, art professionals, and interested members of the public wanting to understand the history of photography and some of its major contributions to art from Daguerre to Gursky, from Vintage Photography to Contemporary Photography. The course is spread over 3 days and is very intensive requiring from all interested participants prior registration and full attendance. The course fee is QR 2,000 and includes a certificate of attendance for all those that participate in all 3 days only. All interested in attending should email education@katara.net to register and submit a 50% fee deposit in order to secure their spot. Places are limited to 20 participants and early registration is advised to avoid disappointment. All successfully registered attendants will receive detailed information before the beginning of the course from the Katara Visual Arts Educations team.
