Dionysis Grammenos has been hailed by the violinist and conductor Michael Guttman as one of the most important clarinetist of today. The composer Theodore Antoniou considers him "a phenomenon in music, tremendously talented and gifted with extraordinary musicality", and conductor Sir Roger Norrington has praised his technical prowess, musical mastery, and the fact he is "a pleasure to hear". Grammenos' musical intelligence and virtuosity have been recognized by conductors and instrumentalists worldwide. His international career was launched when he won the first prize at the Eurovision Young Musicians International Competition 2008 (the first wind player to win this competition) performing live, during the Wiener Festwochen's Opening Ceremony, in front of an audience of 50.000. Grammenos collaborates with such orchestras as the Wiener Symphoniker, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Luzern Festival Strings, Norwegian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish Chamber Orchestra, Nordic Chamber Orchestra, States Orchestras of Greece and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, working with conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Christian Lindberg, Ari Rasilainen, Michalis Economou and Shao En.
