Part of the Bravo Flamenco Festival 2011 A photography exhibition entitled “Songs of Immediacy: Photography and Flamenco” opened the the first Flamenco Festival in Qatar. Organised by Katara in cooperation with the French Mission, this month long exhibition featured 37 photographs and a video presentation by French photographers Gilles Coulon and Mat Jacob. In the series of pictures, the photographers explore the behind the scenes of flamenco as a popular performing art, capturing images of flamenco dancers off stage  and giving the viewers a whole new look at flamenco and photography.
