Katara DFI Cinema presents the inaugural Francophone Cinema Week, a spotlight on contemporary cinema from the French speaking world. Showcasing a selection of contemporary cinema from Francophone member countries, Francophone Cinema Week will feature recent works from Belgium, Canada, France, Luxembourg, Morocco, Senegal and Switzerland. Launching with the Qatari Premiere of Michael Haneke’s 2013 Academy Award® winner for Best Foreign Language Film and Palme d’Or winner, ‘Amour’, and closing with the French box office smash hit, ‘The Intouchables’, the programme features a vibrant mix of drama, animation and comedy, in celebration of the world’s love affair with French language cinema.
