Now, 1300 years later, we celebrate what has become one of the most striking symbols of our heritage. Discover the story of the dhow yourself at Katara where scores of boats from across the region will converge along the beachfront. Live the experience of working on one of these magnificent vessels through the words of their owners and their crew. Competition date: 16 November The rowing competition will be held during the 2nd Traditional Dhow Festival 2012 in Katara. Each team will be made up of ten (only male) members. Registration will be between 15th and the 31st of October 2012. Prizes will be as follows: first prize 80,000 QR, second QR 50,000, third 40000 QR, fourth 30000 QR and fifth 20000 QR; 10000 QR will be awarded to those that place from 6th to 10th place.
