The Cultural Village Foundation - Katara announces, within the program of traditional crafts and industries in the State of Qatar The launching of the Katara Award for Handicrafts and traditional artisanal industry in Qatar in its first edition

From 16 September 2021 untill 20 November 2021

Including the crafts: Sadu – engraving on gypsum - embroidery

Conditions of the contest:

- The product should be traditional or heritage inspired.
- The participant must be at least 18 years old.
- The product should be useable in daily life and can be marketed.
- The popular product must replicate the same sizes used for the
traditional product used in the past.
- Use 90% of traditional raw materials and must be fabricated
manually without using any machine.
- The deadline to submit the artworks is 20 November 2021.
- Katara will obtain the property rights of the winning Works.
- The size of the product shall not be less than the average size and
not more than the large size of the craft.
- The work is evaluated according to the accuracy of the measurements,
the accuracy of the output and the visual value of the product.

Awards:

- The 1st winner: 25,000 QR
- The 2end winner: 15,000 QR
- The 3rd winner: 10,000 QR
- The 4th winner: 5000 QR
- The 5th Winner: 3000 QR
