Katara has allocated a plain white space, measuring 100 meters, for innovative artists (citizens and expatriates) to decorate Katara's walls in the presence of the public, during the months of January and February.
Terms & Conditions:50 artists from the Fine Art associations in Katara will be selected for the second phase.Priority goes to new participants who didn't participate in the first edition of Katara Murals with the Brushes of ArtistsThe paintings should represent an aspect within the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara. For instance, a painting could represent Katara geographically, interpret its culture, or even explore its future plansAn initial sketch will be required prior to the final painting, which will be presented for approval by the organizing committee.Artists are required to use appropriate high-quality paint that is suitable for outdoor use, and be able to withstand various weather conditions.Applicants should be at least 20 years old.Once the organizing committee approves a proposed painting project, each successful participant will receive a financial award worth 8,000 QAR, including a voucher of 1,000 QAR to purchase painting brushes and colors.Each artist will draw on two panels, each one measuring 250 × 350 cm.Collective painting is permitted, though the artwork will be presented under the name of one artist.The organizing committee is eligible to cancel the participation of any artist who does not adhere to the stated terms and conditions. Please note that participants will not receive any winning awards.Ladders will be provided to help in painting. Assistants and volunteers from various institutions will be available at the venue to assist the painters, if so required. It is recommended that artists follow safety measures appropriate to working in an outdoor venue.
