Big Idea: Excitement
Qatar is witnessing an evolutionary period filled with pride, happiness, hope, thrill and bliss. Themed ‘Excitement’, the maiden photo festival will be an opportunity to witness various pictorial forms of enthusiasm and absolute joy in people, places, things, celebrations, animals, actions or nature. Katara Cultural Village will be hosting the festival from 19th to 30th October between 10am and 9pm.
Jordis Antonia Schloesser earned her diploma in photography in 1996 in Dortmund from Prof. Arno Fischer and became a member of OSTKREUZagency a year later. She has worked in almost every
part of the world for prestigious magazines like Geo, Stern, National Geographic and Spiegel.
In 1998, she was admitted to the World Press Joop Swart Masterclass. Among other awards, she received the ’International Yann Geoffroy Competition’ and a ’World Press Photo Award’. In her most recent works, she photographed the jet set in Berlin's ’New West’ or Chinese immigrants producing clothes in Tuscan sweatshops under the label ’made in Italy’. After long years in Havanna and in Paris, Jordis Antonia Schloesser has been living and working in Berlin since 2008.
Andrea Buenafe startedtaking photos when she was new in Doha and could not find her way out of Souq Waqif. She started noticing the unique alleys of every corner and took pictures using her mobile phone. Since then, Andrea has been exploring Doha every day after work. Andrea’s career in the media industry also gave her a huge chance to practice and enhance her photographyskills. For Andrea, the key to capturing beautiful photos is to always appreciate the surroundings.
Tony Hage was born in Beirut in 1961 with dual French-Lebanese nationality. He graduated from film school in Paris, as an assistant director , while simultaneously studying photography (1982) . In Paris he earned himself a place in the world of fashion, particularly during Paris Fashion Week. Through the Gamma and MaxPPP agencies, his photographs were published in some of the most prestigious publications including Time ,The Times, The Independent, Le Figaro Magazine, Gala, Voici, Paris Match and other major publications in the Near East. February 2016 saw an exhibition of his work ‘’ Pris sur le vif’’at Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP) in Paris.

Nasser Al-Emadi graduated in Bachelors of Management and Marketing and entered the world of photography at a young age of 12. Nasser’s photographic strengths lie in nature and architecture photography, while also enjoying other types of photo imaging. He has participated in several local and regional shows – the most notable being “My Heritage is My Responsibility” and “Hamad International Airport
