‘Shams W Qamar’ (Sun and Moon) is a musical by playwright Wajdi Shaya, with renowned Lebanese heavyweights Assi Al Halani and Nadine Al Rassi taking the leading rolls. A love story set in the backdrop of political turmoil, the protagonists are challenged by the ensuing differences between both, as their love is tested by the concepts of freedom and oppression, fear and courage, and pride and dignity; emotional elements that are different to reconcile – just like the sun and moon who because of their very nature will never meet.
