Brief about the duo
They started to play together in 2009, they performed in multiple places of Buenos Aires and all over the country.
In 2011 they carried out a tour in South America. They presented their show in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia with a warm reception from the audience. They played in "La casa de la cultura" of Cuenca, Ecuador; "Enlace Ciudadano" of President Rafael Correa in Montañita Ecuador; in "Nocturno", Comfamiliar Theatre in Pereira, Colombia; "Amalgama cultural" in Cali, Colombia; "El patio del tango" Medellín, Colombia and the anniversary of Yanahuara district in Arequipa, Perú, among others.
They were supported by "La casa de la cultura" of Cuenca, the Peruvian Ministry of Culture and Amalgama Cultural from Cali, Colombia.
During that tour the duo developed the project for their first record together. This record explores the music of Buenos Aires from the beginning of the XXth century. This repertoire gathers together music from the city and the countryside: tangos, milongas, candombes, valses, estilos, zambas and creole songs.
In 2013 they won the contest that Estudio Urbano (recording studio depending of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires) organizes every year. In 2014 they recorded "Por espacio de otro tiempo" in that studio.
In 2014 they receive a subsidy from de Government of the City of Buenos Aires called BAMÚSICA, that supports live music shows.
The same year their project was declared of cultural interest by the Ministry of Culture of Government of Buenos Aires, and as a consequence they were included in the program of patronage called "Mecenazgo Cultural" organized by the same Ministry.
In 2015 they edited and presented their CD, again with the support of BAMÚSICA.
At the present time they are in Doha, Qatar presenting their show of Argentine music and their cd "Por espacio de otro tiempo" in Shangri-La. Hotel.
Leandro Rouco
He was born in Buenos Aires.
He is guitarist, composer, arranger and musical producer. He studied music and guitar in the musical school "Leopoldo Marechal" and in the "Conservatorio de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires Manuel de Falla" with important teachers such as Juan Falú, Carlos Moscardini, Lilian Saba, Pancho Rodríguez, Juan Quintero and Diego Rolón.
As a professional guitarist, he has participated in record productions and played for projects of different artists who play tango, Argentinian and Latin American folk music, rock and roll, Brazilian music, and jazz. He has worked in record productions and shared the stage with great artists such as Rubén Rada, Ana Prada, Virus, Gustavo Cordera, Jorge Drexler, Pitufo Lombardo, Javier Malosetti, Fernando Cabrera, Soledad Villamil and Kevin Johansen, among others.
Since 2007 is Dolores Sola´s guitarist (the lead voice and founder of "La Chicana") in her own tango project as a solist. With her, Leandro Rouco has played in the most prestigious places of Buenos Aires and in important festivals abroad such us "Festival de inverno" in Porto Alegre and in Rome, Italy.
In 2009 he edited "Costado" his own record production with his songs. He presented his work in different places of Buenos Aires and Argentina with his band.
Since 2001 he also teaches guitar.
Since 2009 he has been playing with Rocío Pérez.
In 2014 he carried out a tour in Europe presenting his compositions. He played in Rome, Milan, Paris, Grenoble, and Barcelona. During his stay he worked with the French circus company "Galapiat Cirque", in the City of Lorient. They presented their show "Sur le chemin de la route".
In 2013 he began his activity as a musical producer in is own recording studio. There he composes, arranges, records and mixes records of independent musicians and participates in advertisement productions.
At the present time he is working on his new album as a composer and a soloist.
Rocío Pérez
She was born in Buenos Aires.
She is a singing instructor and a Bachelor of Arts. She lives in Buenos Aires city and works there as a singer and teacher and instructor. She studied different vocal techniques with important singing teachers and vocal therapists such as Alejandra Cañoni, Katie Viqueira, Elizabeth Barbosa y Fabiana Wilder. She also studied singing in "Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda". She studied pedagogy related to singing as well.
She also studied drama, piano and different kind of disciplines focused on the relationship between body and singing such as "Feldenkrais" and "Eutonía". She participated in diverse courses and seminaries centered in the voice techniques such as Eugene Rabine´s method as well.
Along her singing career, Rocío has made incursions into several genres and singing groups. She has participated in soloist projects as well as in choral and vocal groups. She has gone into Argentinian folklore in greater depth, particularly Buenos Aires music. She performed in important places of Buenos Aires such as "Centro Cultural Ricardo Rojas", "La academia del lunfardo", "Café Homero", "Clásica y moderna", "La peña del Colorado", "Alma tango", "Radio Nacional" and in diverse festivals of the city and Argentina
She initiated a deep investigation of the folklore of Buenos Aires that lead to the show that would later give birth to her first soloist record "Ecos Porteños". This production counts with arrangements and the guitar of Alfredo Sadi, a great Uruguayan guitar player, who has worked with many of the most important artists in the history of tango, such as Nelly Omar, Edmundo Rivero and Osvaldo Pugliese, just to mention some.
Since 2009 she plays with Leandro Rouco.
