Ending in next March Katara 2nd Mahaseel opened

The Cultural Village Foundation- Katara opened the 2nd edition of Mahaseel Festival at its southern façade this Saturday in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
The festival is attended by 22 Qatari farms and 6 national companies in food industry.   The opening was attended by HE Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Katara General Manager, HE Sheikh Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Assistant Undersecretary of Agricultural Affairs and Fisheries at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment and the owners of farms and Qatari companies participating in the event and a large audience of Katara visitors.    

HE Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, Katara General Manager, expressed his pleasure to open the 2nd Mahaseel Festival indicating that Mahaseel has become one of the most important festivals held by Katara that combine economic, cultural, informational and recreational aspects. Mahaseel has become a crucial platform for marketing that is widely awaited by farm and company owners and consumers alike, said Dr. Al Sulaiti. Katara has made a great success in its initiative to support national products that would help materialize Qatar National Vision 2030, he said extending thanks to the Ministry of Municipality and Environment for its fruitful cooperation with Katara to achieve the mutual goal of promoting national products and serving the Qatari society.

HE Sheikh Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Assistant Undersecretary of Agricultural Affairs and Fisheries at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment said that, this year, Mahaseel sees a broad participation by Qatari farms that offer various types of quality products at affordable prices. He thanked Katara for its effort to support national products and achieve food security and self-sufficiency for the State of Qatar.

On the other hand, Mr. Salman Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Mahaseel organizing committee, said that the 2nd edition of the festival sees participation of about 30 stores that display quality corps, agricultural products, fresh greens and fruits in addition to 6 national dairy producers. The market opens door for shoppers from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., he said.
